This ‘chameleonic’ multi-purpose venue hosts exhibitions, a monthly vintage market & an art club (with life-drawing sessions held in its yurt). It also attracts a suitably arty crowd with its blackboard menus, quirky decor (including graffiti & a bevy of antique standard lamps) & eclectic music spanning everything from reggae to folk. Migli’s drinks offering revolves around a terrific selection of cocktails & homemade tipples, many involving fresh fruit juice & Fairtrade sugar syrup: try a jug of botanical ‘Pimm’s’ or a tropical mix of pineapple, root ginger, lime & Sailor Jerry rum. The place also shows its ethical side with a full-on veggie menu that takes on board local & foraged ingredients as well as worldwide influences (think Asian tofu salad, cheese & onion sausages with mash or black-eyed bean burgers).
