Meza – Lebanese Cuisine – is a tiny (5 tables!) storefront restaurant just minutes from Tooting Bec Underground station. The food, mostly grilled in the open kitchen, is hot, tasty, and spicy when needed.
Great cold starter plates of aubergine, hummus etc; hot little sausages, kibbe, pastry spinach squares as first courses, and then skewered lamb, chicken and a fish of the day.
Very drinkable Lebanese White and Red wine.
It looked like they also do takeaway.
We made a reservation for 6 on July 4th, though the timing was a little relaxed. Considering the bustle the food service was prompt.
For 6 with several starters, and a couple of main courses (it's very much a sharing place), and sufficient wine, the total bill was £120; good value.

This is such a charming wonderful restaurant that I have no idea why I am sharing this especially since there are only 5 tables . The food is wonderful. The grilled chicken is marinated in spices and juicy and tender. The chicken liver sublime. The lamb succulent. The cold starters from grilled smoked aubergine dip to various tomato and chickpeas are yummy. The owner charming. This is a jewel of a restaurant.
