About

OPENS MAY 2020

Hospitality pros Corbin & King plan to open an expansive seafood restaurant for their eighth London location.

Occupying a massive space in bustling Soho, Manzi’s will be a seafood restaurant with nautical themes, which will sit on the more casual scale of Corbin & King’s vast restaurant spectrum. Unlike some of the pair’s other former projects (such as high-end The Wolseley), Manzi’s will have a fun and affordable vibe, similar to that of Brasserie Zédel.

If you’re wondering where the name comes from, it’s a bit of an in-joke to diners who have long been exploring London’s restaurant scene. Manzi’s was a long-standing fish restaurant in central London which shut its doors in 2012. In his email newsletter, Jeremy King revealed the reasoning behind their decision to christen this site Manzi’s: “So called not because it is on the same site but in tribute to the long-lamented Leicester Square forefather that so many of us mourned its passing”.

The restaurant spreads itself across two floors and boasts windows on both sides of the dining rooms (a rarity in Soho), guaranteeing plenty of natural light. Like its namesake, Manzi’s food menu will specialise in seafood, providing plenty of options for those following a pescatarian diet.

The restaurant will seat 241 diners, as well as an additional 44 covers outside on the terrace. There will be a ground-floor bar and dining room, while another more formal dining room will be found upstairs, along with a private dining room.

Corbin & King's last restaurant opening was Soutine in St John’s Wood and there are two ambitious restaurant conversions in the pipeline: one on the former House of Fraser site by Monument tube in the City and another on the old Royal Bank of Scotland building between Pembridge Road and Pembridge Gardens in Notting Hill.
