About

OPENS AUGUST 2019

Billed as a ‘dining and drinking emporium’, this new venture from the mother-and-daughter team behind Abuelo in Covent Garden serves up a multi-area space that makes the all-day concept not just feasible, but wholly desirable.

Within The Tide neighbourhood on the Greenwich Peninsula, a five-minute walk from North Greenwich station, the space houses a milk-bar café, self-contained bakery, garden complete with an outdoor parrilla (barbecue) and edible flower garden, plus a gin distillery and tap room with small-batch craft beers on tap.

Like Abuelo, Mama Fuego specialises in antipodean food with Latin flavours, made from organic and speciality produce, with a focus on quality. A steady supply of Aussie coffee and delicious patisserie – from beautiful floral cakes to freshly baked breads – promises to keep those arriving in the morning with their laptops fuelled until late afternoon, when the relaxed breakfast and brunch vibe gives way to a playful, evening atmosphere.

As during the day, there are a number of options for dinner: the buzzing atmosphere of the all-day restaurant where you can interact with the chefs in the open kitchen; the 70s-style sunken lounge where you can eat, drink and pretend you’re in a Bond film; the Triangle Bar with its antique piano and vintage green velvet seating; or the garden, where you can enjoy traditional asado (barbecue) dishes grilled over an open fire.
