Mid-lifers Moira and Mike Stedman have fulfilled a dream, taken up residence in a charming old building in the middle of Hebden Bridge and filling it with all manner of things you want to take home
– from herbs, spices, biscuits and homemade preserves to stylish kitchenalia. Inside it’s light and airy, with hints of Scandi style and assorted bare tables dotted around – plus a lovely outdoor
space and an elevated balcony overlooking the town. Open sandwiches come on a choice of locally made breads, including sourdough, olive and tomato: try the super-tasty red pepper hummus with feta.
Mike also bakes ace cakes and scones, and his croque monsieur is pretty damn good too – a handsome plate with a sharply dressed salad accompaniment. The vibe is cool, contemporary and
stripped-back, with plenty of warmth and chatter.
