Restless party animal JJ Goodman has brought his Bethnal Green outpost (formerly Craft Cocktail Co) under the same banner as his other bars, rebadging it as London Cocktail Club BG. There’s a new look, too: ox-blood leather chesterfields and 1930s standard lamps create a living-room vibe; the awkward island bar has gone, the former ‘bottle shop’ replaced by a long bar to one side. Here, choose between classic cocktails – Corpse Reviver #2, White Lady and Nuclear Daiquiri (overproof rum, green Chartreuse, lime and velvet falernum) – and in-house hoots such as ‘Butter Beer’, The Dude (creamy vodka and Tia Maria: ‘a DIY marshmallow’) and summery disco delight Boogie Nights (Grey Goose Le Citron vodka, Amaretto, peach liqueur and pineapple). Fish bowls and tiki jugs from £25 for up to two dozen mates (Cheeky Nandos, Bathtub Lagoon, etc) keep party spirits high, as do saucy shots such as Blow Job.
