About

Popular with Glasgow’s oenophiles, Le Petit Cochon is an independently owned neighbourhood wine bar and bistro, which takes great pride in selling more wines by the glass than any other establishment in the city, as well as championing the use of high-quality and locally sourced produce on its food menus.

The split level space, featuring a mezzanine area towards the back of the room, follows an industrial chic aesthetic, including exposed brick walls and a wood panelled bar flanked by copper-look stools. Meanwhile, bunches of flowers and twinkling fairy lights wrapped around the bannister leading up to the mezzanine add a more romantic touch.

The cosy atmosphere is bolstered by the comforting selection of menus, comprising an a la carte, Sunday roast and weekend brunch offering. Le Petit Cochon’s main menu features a range of Anglo-French dishes, kicking off with the likes of French onion soup served alongside a gruyere cheese crostini and baked camembert drizzled with truffle honey and a spicy gooseberry chutney. Main courses meanwhile see classic steak frites or crispy duck leg with salsa verde, alongside a vegetarian option of goat’s cheese en croute with ratatouille and braised fennel.

To round off your meal, explore the wide range of European wines by the glass or choose from Le Petit Cochon’s concise but inviting dessert menu, which includes chocolate orange fondant with a marmalade ice cream or Paris-Brest with a white chocolate and pistachio ganache.

On the weekend, head to Le Petit Cochon for a Gallic take on weekend brunch, which sees croque madame and savoury crepes take up a large chunk of the menu, alongside waffles topped with crispy duck leg and a fried egg for those with heartier appetites. Sunday lunch meanwhile consists of traditional roasts with all of the trimmings, bookended by French-style starters and puddings.
