An independently run, hands-on burger joint with a liking for wacky and exotic flavours, the Greedy Cow is going down a storm in Mile End – thanks to its energetic vibes, fair prices and carefully sourced ingredients, plus the option of creating your own ‘bespoke burger’ from the toppings and sauces on offer. Camel, kangaroo, wild boar and similar exotica crop up from time to time, alongside Indian, Jamaican, Portuguese and other “amazing” riffs on the patty theme. Alternatively, pick from a conventional roster of char-grilled BBQ ribs, well-aged Hereford-reared steaks with classic sauces, chicken Caesar salad or roast butternut squash with thyme-charred leeks and Camembert, plus flaming crème brûlée, vanilla cheesecake or chocolate fondant to finish. Liquid refreshments extend to a short list of eclectic wines, as well as the usual smoothies, milkshakes, world beers and cocktails. The owners also have a food truck for hire.
