Foxhills dates from the late18th century and is a handsome listed manor house set in a 400-acre estate. Golf, tennis, a luxury spa & a croquet lawn are attractions, along with a couple of good
dining choices – the pick being the Manor restaurant in the old music room overlooking the garden. The food is modern British: a salad of avocado, smoked duck & fig, before fillet of sea bass
on Chinese leaves, bean sprouts & water chestnuts with toasted sesame & basil dressing, for example. To finish, the deliciously retro coconut baked Alaska on brandied cherry compote is not
to be missed.
