Originally intended as a pop-up from the team behind Liar’s Club and Black Dog Ballroom, Crazy Pedro’s has evolved into a permanent New York-style pizza and cocktail bar. Quirky skateboards, Mexican-style murals and retro posters embellish the interior of this late-night party joint – and the menu is similarly eccentric. You can choose a 16-inch thin-crust pizza, with toppings ranging from tortilla chips and pico de gallo to mini hamburgers, or try a rotating selection by the slice. Pedro’s World Famous Hotdog Pizza is a joy for lovers of filthy fast food, loaded with beer-soaked frank, cheese, crispy onions, French’s mustard and ketchup. A sweeter option comes with fried chicken, smoked bacon, waffles and sticky maple syrup, though it’s good to see that pared-down options of margherita or pepperoni are equally well-executed. You’ll also find Manchester’s largest mezcal and Tequila selection here, and the inventive frozen cocktails are worth investigating too.
