Smart Italian group Chucs has branched out again, adding a fifth location to its collection in another of London’s fashionable neighbourhoods. Billed as a more casual dining concept than its four siblings, Chucs Café Kensington will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, with a focus on first-rate coffee supplied by Difference Coffee Co. Available in only a handful of upmarket establishments in the capital, Difference sources the very highest-grade coffees, and works alongside one of only four fully-licensed Coffee Quality Graders in the world to create what it promises is an exemplary cup of joe.
Food-wise, diners can expect a broad range of drinks, snacks and more substantial meals, from smoothies to paninis, salads and pastas, the majority of which are available to take away. Breakfast sees the likes of homemade granola with peaches and yoghurt alongside classic favourites such as eggs Benedict, and smashed avocado with poached eggs and smoked chilli. Meanwhile, the all-day menu features some of Chucs’ most popular dishes, including the Cobb salad, tagliatelle with crab and Amalfi lemon, and bigoli cacio e pepe.
Come evening, guests can choose from a large selection of wines alongside cicchetti or small plates, including prosciutto di Parma, broad beans with smoked mozarella, and seared tuna with ponzu and sesame. Heartier dishes include burrata with peaches, chilli and mint, and fennel risotto with black olive pangrattato.
