But whether the addition of basil syrup is an improvement on a Pisco Sour is a matter of taste; and for every convert to a Chivas Regal Whisky Sour made with salted caramel, cinnamon and milk whey, there will be a sceptic exclaiming ‘no whey!’ Otherwise, plump for the pocket-friendly vino or a mocktail, and to stave off hunger pangs, order chicken lollipops, arancini, or rum and Coke-glazed ribs.
