Opened in 2008 by accountant-turned-master brewer Duncan Sambrook, this Battersea microbrewery might be a fun outing for hop heads and ale buffs. For £12 per person, fans can discover the secrets
behind sterling stuff such as chocolaty Powerhouse Porter and ‘spicy herbaceous’ Wandle Bitter. The guided tour ends with a tasting session (the price includes three pints of your choice) in the
brewery’s new Boadicea Bar – a no-frills work in progress. Suppliers to London’s better craft beer taprooms, Sambrook’s has also provided big names such as Mitchells & Butlers with bespoke
seasonal ales. Leave via the downstairs shop where you can purchase Sambrook’s finest, along with quality bottled beers from the likes of Brooklyn Brewery, Thornbridge and a host of big, bold
Belgians such as Morte Subite and Duchesse de Bourgogne.
