Bella Italia is looking rather more ‘bella’ than it has in a while, with a trendy new look featuring painted brick, designer lights and groovy tiles to reflects its magpie offering. This nationwide chain does far more than just pizza and pasta; the kitchen has absorbed some foreign influences along the way, so expect chicken wings with piri-piri mayonnaise, a ‘burger americano’ and a rack of pork ribs with sticky balsamic BBQ sauce, corn on the cob and onion rings, as well as the more traditionally Italian mushroom arancini, tagliatelle with slow-cooked lamb ragù and generous calzone. Dessert highlights include the Godfather ice-cream sundae with chocolate popping candy, cookie-dough lava cake and classic tiramisu. To drink, there are global beers, approachably priced cocktails, shakes and a list of all-Italian wines.
