Following a series of successful pop-ups, B.Eat Street has found a permanent new home – bringing seven street-food traders and three bars to the Great Northern. Good-value options are available throughout the day: from loaded grilled cheese sandwiches at Big Grillie Style and spicy South Indian dishes at Indian Street Canteen to fresh, zingy Indonesian food at Bali Beach Hut. We especially enjoyed the Chihuahua from Bart’s Dog Kart (a spicy dog loaded with cheese, chorizo, jalapeños, crumbled nachos and hot sauce); salt-beef bagels at Eat New York; and fall-apart tender Jamaican barbecue at Jerk. Dutch diner Lekker provides desserts of waffles and poffertjes (fluffy mini pancakes). To drink, choose from cosy wine bar Milk of Burgundy (with its inspired by-the-glass selection), Kozel Bar (easy-drinking Czech beer), and the kitsch Lucky Lucky Late Bar (serving Japanese beers and cocktails until the early hours). A vibrant sun terrace adds to the conviviality.
