Vietnamese street food with an urban edge and a side order of film noir is the unlikely deal at this themed noodle bar off Tottenham Court Road. Inspired by the work of theatre company Punch Drunk, it seeks to conjure up the mood with colonial French interiors, scenes from iconic, 40s pulp movies, newsprint menus and kooky touches such as napkins marked with a ‘lipstick kiss’ and a scrawled phone number. The cooking aims for authentic Vietnamese flavours – think signature dishes such as lobster pho, deep-fried spring rolls, communal ‘steam boats’ and ‘fish sauce’ wings. Wines also contribute to the film noir theme.
