With 5cc cocktail lounges bringing home the bacon for owner Barworks at The Well & Bucket., Harrild & Sons and The Exmouth Arms, the formula has now been rolled out to the 70s disco-revisited basement of their Shoreditch premises in the Electricity Showrooms. Fancy cocktail fixes on offer include Italian Gentleman (bourbon, rye, Campari, white vermouth and maraschino in an absinthe-rinsed glass) – a light-bulb moment for fans of its close relatives, the Sazerac and the Negroni. Elsewhere, Play Dead is another typically switched on quaff, which introduces current revived liqueur yellow Chartreuse to rye, Fernet Branca and Lillet Blanc. Sharp shakes, stirring old school R&B, soul and modern Brit bar snacks are further reasons to ‘cc’ your friends about this bright spark’s presence.
