About Volta Do Mar

Description

While London is a melting pot of cuisines, with restaurants flying the flag for various countries all around the globe, there is still a distinct lack of Portuguese dining opportunities in the capital.

Luckily, Volta do Mar is here to rectify that. This smart independent joint is found inside of a gorgeous multi-level Georgian townhouse and offers ample private dining opportunities, with groups able to enjoy feasting menus of Portuguese classics, such as Iberico pork vindalho and piri piri chicken. At Volto do Mar, there are four distinct spaces to choose from, each able to cater to a wide variety of occasions, including birthday celebrations, engagement dinners and even business meetings.

The most intimate space you’ll find in the restaurant is Behind The Curtain, a private dining haven discreetly tucked away in the restaurant’s wine cellar that accommodates just 10 guests – perfect for ultra-exclusive events that require the utmost privacy.

If you are looking for a more traditional room though, opt for the Kitchen Table. This self-contained private dining room is found directly opposite Volta do Mar’s kitchen, so you can spy your meals being made in front of you. The room, which can accommodate up to 20 people, also comes complete with audio-visual equipment and en-suite bathroom facilities, so is suited to everything from a milestone birthday meal to an intimate product launch.

For slightly larger gatherings, there is the Mirror Room. Found on the first floor, this space is flooded with plenty of natural light thanks to large windows, and also comes complete with a dedicated bar and en-suite bathrooms, which means you can have an entirely exclusive function which guarantees total privacy. To host up to 50 guests, you can combine the Mirror Room with the adjacent Garden Room, another light-filled space that accommodates up to 25 people on its own.
