By day, Café Forty One is a classic French patisserie serving breakfast, lunch, all-day desserts and afternoon tea, with one major difference – it is London’s only entirely plant-based hotel restaurant.
Come the evening, Café Forty One is available to hire exclusively as an events and private dining space. The restaurant benefits from a plum Hyde Park location which makes it an accessible venue for corporate functions – Café Forty One is just a short walk away from the likes of Notting Hill, Portobello Market and Marble Arch, while nearby transport links include Bayswater and Queensway Underground, while Paddington is just one stop away on the tube.
The restaurant is found within minimalist La Suite West boutique hotel and is a sleek and elegant space, featuring chic and cosy interiors. If you hire out the dining space for your next event, you will also benefit from the use of the adjoining private terrace. The terrace can seat up to 38 guests for an alfresco dinner on long, communal wooden tables, but can also be used for standing drinks receptions and events if required.
The event menus at Café Forty One take their inspiration from the Italian and Japanese heritage of head chef Yumiko, with a particular focus on seasonal ingredients and the farm-to-plate ethos. As well as being a plant-based venue, Café Forty One also does not serve alcohol, which is a trend we are seeing more and more at industry events.
The proudly booze-free venue instead stocks a range of non-alcoholic fizz, mocktails, kombuchas, Seedlip gins and specialist teas, which mean guests will still feel like a special effort has been made on the drinks front, instead of being resigned to a glass of lemonade or Diet Coke.
Challenging the historically negative stereotypes surrounding vegan food and proving that an event doesn’t need to include alcohol to be a success, Café Forty One is an intriguing and truly modern space, well suited to evening functions such as product launches, drinks receptions and sit-down dinners.
