Live at Chelsea 2016 is set to be one of London’s hottest live events of the summer: set in the illustrious surroundings of Chelsea’s Royal Hospital, the open-air concert runs from Friday 17 until Sunday 19 June and includes sets from pop legends Wet Wet Wet and Simply Red, as well as a performance by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
What really sets Live at Chelsea apart from the other events is the food: a lot of food. The 2016 edition is set to be a dining experience of gargantuan proportions, with hampers, BBQs and fine dining, all devised by the Gordon Ramsay Group.
Enjoy the nation’s favourite pastime of picnicking, without packing your own (inevitably sweaty) cheese sandwiches. Forget packets of crisps: picnickers will dine on salmon tartar maki rolls, smashed avocado, grilled chicken and cheese boards.
Not sure if you prefer or sheep’s milk sorbet or sausage rolls? There’s a casual Quartermaster’s BBQ package, all prepared by the Maze Grill team. This includes cocktails, grilled sirloin skewers with Béarnaise sauce and potato salad with horseradish chive and dill – not forgetting a strawberry and brown sugar Eton mess with lemon verbena to finish.
For something a little more special, a three-course dining package with wine pairings will be served in the Royal Hospital’s state apartments. The menu includes Champagne, canapés, Cotswold lamb, salmon ravioli and lemonade parfait. Pair it with a bottle of scarlet Bordeaux and you’ll be all set for a ‘Holding Back the Years’ singalong with Mick.
You’ll also be pleased to hear that there’s also no standing or shuffling about at Live at Chelsea, with all performances taking place in a seated, outdoor auditorium.
