Club Chelsea is giving you the chance to dine like a world-class footballer

Ever wondered what world-class footballers eat when preparing for a big match? Well, Club Chelsea is ready to give you the answer, as it shows the red card to unhealthy meals as part of its new events menu.

Designed exclusively for meetings, conferences and events, the new dishes on the menu are inspired by the kind of meals that would keep a Premier League player at the top of their game.

The healthy spread will help keep guests alert and energetic

Helping to realise the menu is Jack Christopher, the nutritionist for the football club’s first team. The ‘Fit for a First Team’ menu is great for events, as it will ensure that delegates stay energised from kick-off through to the final whistle.

At breakfast meetings, you can get out of the morning slump by enjoying dishes such as mushroom and spinach egg muffins, and gluten-free porridge with berries, seeds and nuts. Come lunchtime, options to try include seared tuna steak with lemon, capers and olives, and Mediterranean vegetable ratatouille.

For something sweet (but still on the lighter side), you can enjoy the likes of milk rice pudding with coconut sugar, or a chocolate avocado pot. If you’re hosting an all-day event, you can perk up your ‘players’ with afternoon snacks such as homemade protein balls and ‘magnesium boost’ smoothies which are made with spinach, banana, almonds and chia seeds.

Jack Christoper is the nutritionist for Chelsea's first team

Speaking about the new menu, Jack said: “The new menu has been inspired by the type of dishes we serve the club’s first team to help them deliver a winning performance. We’ve incorporated slow releasing carbohydrate options with a low glycaemic index into the menu – for example porridge oats, sweet potato and lentils - to avoid sharp increases in blood sugar. This ensures delegates benefit from a sustained source of energy throughout their meeting or event.”

The ‘Fit for a First Team’ menu will be available for all meetings, conferences and exhibitions and are bookable as part of the new ‘Fit for a First Team’ DDR package.

Guests tuck in to the high-energy food offering

The Fit for a First Team package includes dishes from the new menu and meeting room hire, as well as hot drinks served throughout the day along with granola bars, fruit and homemade protein bars. Packages are priced from £60 plus VAT per person, for a minimum booking of 15 people.
