G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh

Formerly Hotel Missoni, this 136-bedroom property on George IV Bridge rebranded in 2014. Nowadays, the work of Scottish designers can be found everywhere, from the staff uniforms to the napkins in the 12-seater private dining room. It makes for a modern, vibrant look – particularly in the conferencing spaces, where ordinarily you might not expect it. Our favourite spot is the stylish 12-seater VIP Boardroom, which has fantastic views across Victoria Street and of the bridge itself, plus a chandelier made of multiple desk lamps. The hotel’s largest space is the Tartan Room, which can seat 60 theatre style in smart monochrome surroundings. In 2016, the hotel will undergo a redesign of its bedrooms, the lobby and bar.
