About Carlton Club

The Carlton Club was established in 1832 as a party political organisation. Today it is the oldest of the Conservative clubs, occupying the 24-bedroomed Georgian property on St James’s Street it first took over in 1940. Laden with totems of Tory history, its function rooms are available for private hire. Large enough to handle anything from a gala dinner to an AGM, the air-conditioned Churchill Room is licensed for civil ceremonies and can be taken in conjunction with an adjacent reception area, Cads’ Corner. The Wellington Room and the deep-blue Disraeli Room are fine choices for sit-down events, or you can get 23 around a single table in the formal Cabinet Room. The Library suits business-first gatherings, while the Morning Room has a music licence until 1am. At any point, groups can always retire to the Macmillan Bar & Terrace.
