Bala Baya is an excellent venue space, ideal for a variety of event functions, making it the idea place to host your next intimate dinner party or drinks reception. This Bauhaus inspired restaurant is superbly located in the Union Street Arches on the Bankside for easy access (thanks to the nearby underground, taxis, and mainline station links) to the rest of London and beyond.
The restaurant is modern and sleek with flourishes of Israeli design blending seamlessly into its Bankside bricks and mortar. Designed by multi-award winning designer Afroditi Krassa, the restaurant combines chic, urban city vibes with mesmerising elements of Desert Bauhaus. The venue is set over two stunning floors featuring a vibrant assortment of event spaces, fit for a multitude of bespoke purposes.
Venue hire at Bala Baya offers three potential options to suit your occasion needs, which can all be private. Meetings, conferences, and dinners can be held in each of the event spaces, with larger capacities for standing receptions. The mezzanine has a capacity of 60 for seated affairs and a maximum of 100 standing. The ground floor restaurant and bar can comfortably fit 20 to 40 guests. Alternatively, clients can exclusively hire the entire venue with room for 80 seated guests and a total capacity of 160 standing. There is wheelchair access and the venue is dog friendly.
The food at Bala Baya focuses on contemporary Israeli dishes concocted by the wonderful Chef Eran Tibi, to give your event a dose of warming Levantine hospitality. The venue is quite special, being Chef Tibi’s first stand-alone project which pays homage to his roots. Food arrangements can be made for all events, from brunch through to late night dinners, with contemporary Israeli dishes, that feature the likes of coriander and honey marinated lamb shish with smoky aubergine.
