This Victorian school-turned-luxury hotel in London Bridge is an ideal setting for a Christmas party. It’s the luxury hotel group’s first venture in the UK and its Indian and Victorian heritage is merged, making for a traditional, yet intriguing backdrop for the festive celebrations.
For Christmas, there are three packages to choose from, Silver (£105pp), Gold (£110pp) and Premium (£130pp). The Silver package includes room hire, a three-course dinner, half a bottle of wine per person, unlimited still or sparkling water, cloakroom, Christmas-themed decorations and crackers. Upgrade this to the Gold Package to include a welcome drink on arrival. If you really feel like splashing out, go for the Premium Package to have a sparkling reception with canapés and a DJ for after dinner on top of everything else.
Indian fine dining is definitively the hotel’s forte, but if you fancy a more traditional Christmas menu, there are turkey alternatives. The hotel’s main restaurant and dining room, Baluchi, does not only impress with striking interiors (double-spaced arched ceiling and walls covered in a rich cobalt blue, original herringbone wooden floors and mother of pearl mirrors), but also with the food. The contemporary take on classic Indian dishes could be a nice change for the festive season. This is definitively the place to hire out for a large Christmas dinner followed by a party.
For smaller gatherings, opt for the Headmasters And Teacher’s Room (which features an original ornate plastered ceiling and mother of pearl details behind the bar), or one of the private dining rooms, knows as Laboratories. The former also comes complete with a statement Victorian fireplace, while the latter rooms feature large windows, letting plenty of natural light in to shine on the striking Indian-inspired décor.
It’s worth noting that the spaces can be hired out in combination with each other, and as it is a hotel, there’s always the opportunity of hosting your guests for the night.
