Kensington’s Launceston Place is an intimate and homely setting for private dining in this leafy corner of W8. Two function rooms are decked out in large wooden fireplaces, ornate mirrors and work from up-and-coming British artists. The food remains patriotic through and through, with the kitchen delivering haute cuisine alongside homely modern British dishes. Expect to see the likes of pork tenderloin with crispy pigs head, cumin pickled cabbage, pea purée and truffled pork sauce on the set menus. Guests can watch the action from the kitchen on plasma screens in the 12-seated Chef’s Office or enjoy a canapé reception for up to 100 in the main restaurant.
